This evening will introduce you to the world of alcohol from your child’s perspective. Discover the challenges adolescents face every day. We will highlight media manipulation, the societal focus on alcohol and the medical and legal implications for you and your child.

FUNDRAISER UPDATE

Students can turn in their fundraising money this Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at the picnic table in the morning when the bell rings. There will be PTSA parents sitting at the table from 9:30am to 10:00am to collect them. Thank you for all your hard work!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
The fundraiser will be held from 10/13/08 to 10/24/08.
The Order Form must have the student’s contact information written on the form. Payment for the products must be submitted with the Order Form.
PAYMENT FOR ITEMS MAY BE IN THE FORM OF CASH OR CHECKS. PLEASE MAKE CHECKS PAYABLE TO OMS PTSA.
The products are scheduled to arrive at the school the week of Nov. 17th.
POSTCARDS FROM HOME

OMS PTSA will be participating in the “Postcards from Home” project again this year. We will have a table set up at Kids Night Out for the students to write a message on a postcard to send to the soldiers overseas. Ms. Johnson will be coordinating the program within the school. Our goal is to have at least 1000 postcards by the end of October. Once the postcards are done, they will be delivered to the radio station US103.5 in Tampa. From there the radio station and various Boy Scout Troops sort, address and package the cards to be sent out.

NEW PTSA MEETING SIGN-IN REQUIREMENTS

Starting immediately, all members attending meetings or volunteering for PTSA events will be required to sign in at the computer in the front office. Please pick up a Volunteer form from the office or print one here by clicking on the “Get Involved” tab found at the top of the page. Fill it out and send it, along with a copy of your Drivers License or state ID, to Mrs. Mizia, our Volunteer Coordinator prior to a meeting or event. Thank you!

Welcome to the new OMS PTSA webiste!
We would like to take this time to extend a huge, heartfelt thank you to Mr. John Williams of Atlanta, Ga. for donating his time and talent to the development of this wonderful site. It is beautiful! We are delighted with everything and appreciate all the hours you spent making sure it was perfect. Your efforts succeeded our wildest expectations! We can’t thank you enough!

FUNDRAISER

For our fundraiser this year, we are selling cookbooks. There are 12 to choose from and the cost is $6.50 ea. They make great holiday gifts! Look for more information and order forms to come home the second week of October. Thank you for your support!

GENERAL MEETING - Nov. 11th, 7pm Media Center
Deputy Darling will present a program about Internet Safety. This presentation will be full of valuable information for parents and students. Come and learn ways to protect your child. All are welcome!
Please remember to fill out a Volunteer form and send it in to Mrs. Mizia in the front office with a copy of your Drivers License or Florida ID. This will allow you to sign in at the computer in the front office before the PTSA meetings or any time you volunteer at school or PTSA functions. Thank you!

OCT. 3rd - Student Incentive Drawing for a $100 Visa Gift card
Teacher Incentive Drawing for a Bay Area Hot Spot Gift card
OCT. 24th - Kids Night Out - Scavenger Hunt! School gym, 6:30 -8:30pm. Please bring membership card for FREE admission! Refreshments will be sold.
NOV. 10th to 14th - Clothes for Kids clothing drive - Accepting clean, gently worn clothes, shoes & accessories for K-12th graders. Please, no used undergarments. New, unopened packaged undergarments, socks, etc. are also greatly appreciated. Drop off donations in bus and car circles each morning that week.
NOV.11 - PTSA General Meeting - 7PM, Media Center - Deputy Darling will present an informative program about Internet Safety. Come and learn how to protect your child!
